FARCHILD was born when a girl fell out of the sky onto an abandoned island somewhere near the Aegean sea. Cold and hungry but alive, she swam across the Atlantic ocean to America in search of nourishment. 'Twas found in the glorious sounds of music. One microphone, guitar, keyboard, and drum-set later, she had developed the tools to combat a sleeping human populace overrun by corruption and apathy. With her instruments and musical mission, she embarked on a journey meeting other FARCHILDREN across the globe.
Covering a myriad of topics ranging from love and socio-political commentary to surviving abuse and triumph, she delivers eclectic AlternaPop records while retaining an introspection often lost in the mainstream. Influenced by Rock, Electronic, Pop, Folk, Hip-Hop, Classical, and Industrial genres, she grew up on classical piano lessons and performed in West Coast recitals. Eventually, she hit the Northwest music scene fronting Rock bands and jamming in coffeehouses with her guitar, Shaila.
She has worked with/ performed as an opener for A-list music acts onstage (The Presidents of the United States of America, Bone Thugz 'N' Harmony, Ellis Hall, etc), licensed music to film/ TV, been featured on radio, and modeled in TV/ Print ads. A few favorite artists: Michael Jackson, Alanis Morissette, Nine Inch Nails, Lauryn Hill, Enya, Mozart, Tool, Kanye West, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eminem, and AFI. Listen.
